i died in 2017 and nobody noticed (2022)

This series is a collection of self-portraits taken in 2022, shaped by the lingering weight of grief, mental illness, and unresolved memory. Each image stands as a fragmented mirror—haunted, distorted, and painfully intimate—reflecting the aftermath of losing my best friend in 2019 and the long, quiet unraveling that followed.

Though the photos were made years later, they speak to a death that occurred far earlier: a version of myself that faded silently, without witness. Through darkness, visual noise, and deliberate abstraction, the series explores emotional states like depression, mania, anxiety, and dissociation, not as clinical terms, but as lived, shapeshifting forces.

Each frame is a portrait of survival that doesn’t always look like living.
